Our First Haircut

I can't believe it's been a month since I put up a post, sorry!
We have quite a few pics and videos to share!

First, our little man is becoming a pretty good helper...

Whatever we're doing, he wants to help! :)

He likes to be like Dad!

Or try out the TP in the bathroom...

He's becoming quite the talker now, too.

For Thanksgiving Nana Lynnie, Mike's Mom, came to visit! We were so excited for her to come and had so much fun spending time with her while she was here! I feel so bad that I didn't get any pictures while she was here, I'll have to get some from her!

Here's Lil' O waiting for Nana Lynnie after we pumped her bed up.

Lil' O LOVED Nana Lynnie, they even snuggled on the couch a couple times! He was sad for her to go. We all loved having her and playing games!

A couple weeks ago we were doing laundry and Lil' O got a little scared...

He's apparently taken up some crocheting lately, too.

Finally, the moment you've all been waiting for... His First Haircut!!

We decided that it would be easiest to put him in his high chair with a movie playing and trim his whole head with one of the long settings on Mike's beard trimmer. I almost cried when I saw how big it made him look! Where did my baby go?!

This is what happens when you go on nap strike and then want to watch a movie after dinner...
Mike said he didn't even make it through the opening credits, poor little guy!

Some fun videos and peek-a-boo. :)

Can you believe how big he's getting?!

Talking and Eating and Eating and Talking...

Oliver's two favorite activities right now are talking and eating.
It's so cute, but so messy!

His first time with spaghetti.

He loves trying on clothes, especially anything of Dada's.
Here's Dada's hat...

He also likes experimenting with his own clothes...

His new favorite part of the day is when he gets to run around with no clothes!

He has a new trick...
My favorite part is the tickles!

More eating messiness!

And finally, some talking!!

Happy Halloween!

We had quite a bit of fun for Halloween this year.
Last Friday was our ward Trunk or Treat. We all got dressed up and had fun visiting with friends and handing out candy to the kids.

Before we went, I made Lil' O a couple tribbles to go with his costume. He loves them!

At the Trunk or Treat Lil' O wanted to be just like Dad. If Dad was up, he wanted to be up, if Dad was leaning against the wall, that's what he wanted to do...

Just as we were about to get a family pic in our costumes, they announced that it was time to get our trunks ready for the trick or treating, so we didn't end up getting a picture together. We all looked so awesome in our matching Star Trek costumes, though. It was so fun!

Since Oliver doesn't want to take candy from strangers it seemed silly to try to go trick or treating this year, so he and I just chilled at home and watched it rain. Oliver loves the rain and will watch it forever. When we went out to get the mail he insisted on standing out in it until he started to get soaked, silly kid!

He loves Dad's hat.

After he'd been out in the rain.

He and I also had fun learning how to drum tonight...

Have a good week, and don't forget to enjoy the rain! :)

A Day In the Life

We're missing all of you today, and wishing you could be here to see all of Lil' O's antics. So, I decided to try to document a day in his life for you.

He started out by sleeping in until 10:40 this morning, almost 3 hrs. later than usual!
Since he missed so much daylight this morning, he had to make up for it by being an extra-busy boy today.

Checking out the tupperware is one of his favorite things to do. When I clean up each night, I find the tupperware all over the house!

Sometimes he makes the rounds and checks other things out, too.
This little pink light-up guy is his new best friend, it's so cute!

Sometimes he wrestles with his giant teddy bear, and lately he's been carrying him around, too. It's so funny because the bear is about his same size, if not bigger, so he can only make it a couple steps before he trips over the bear and they both topple over. He then gets up and goes for it again. He's a very determined boy!

We had the stroller in the apartment from our walk yesterday and today he decided to climb inside...

After this we went to meet Dad up on campus and go see Mike the Tiger. Lil' O loved seeing Mike and kept saying "kitty, kitty!" He then walked all around for about a half hour before he and I started for home. He insisted on pushing the stroller part of the way home and was a very sleepy boy by the time we got back.

Just before bed he got to paint his pumpkin, and he thought that was pretty neat...

So that's a day in the life of our Lil' O.

Getting Excited for Halloween!

Last weekend Dad needed a quick break from his homework, so we drug him with us to the market to find Lil' O a pumpkin. It was our first time at the open-air produce market that is closest to us, and we loved it! I'll definitely be going back there for some fruits and veggies! It was a fun night out as a family.

When we got back, Lil' O kept pointing to his Halloween costume, so we helped him put it on.
Here are some videos of him walking, playing, and checking out his pumpkin...

We started playing peek-a-boo with my star trek shirt and then he just walked away with it on his head and thought he was so funny! It was really cute!

He then wanted to see what I was doing with the camera and to take a couple pictures himself, so here's his first pictures...
I think they're pretty good!

He was too busy for me to get a picture of him with his pumpkin...

but here's some video of him checking out the pumpkin, and talking on the "phone."

Now I just need to find him a tribble to carry... :)

First Steps

Before Lil' O and I went to Idaho he was getting pretty close to walking, but hadn't taken his first steps yet. I didn't push him too much while we were gone, because I knew it would be so sad if he did it while Mike couldn't be there to see it!
So, while we were visiting Sarah in Rexburg, Sarah and I left Lil' O with Uncle Austin and Uncle Eric for a bit while we went shopping. When we got back, Oliver was taking a couple steps!!
Here's the video of some of his first steps.

We were so sad Mike missed it, but he was still just starting when we got home, so Mike got to see some for himself, too. :)
Now I can't believe what a go-er he is! Last Sunday he started standing up in the middle of the room by himself, and then the next day he tried a couple steps, and today he almost crossed the entire apartment to get to me! He's such a big boy!!

For dinner we had pasta and I think Lil' O liked it, what do you think?

Lately, he loves to be like Mom and Dad. After I got done practicing the piano the other day, he climbed right up on the bench and proceeded to compose a song for me, I loved it! :)

We're Back!

Sorry I went MIA for a bit, we just took a great trip to Idaho for 3 weeks!
Lil' O and I left Mike in Louisiana to keep going to school while we spent some time with my family.
It was such a great trip.
I was nervous for the plane rides there, but Oliver was so good and we made our layover just right so everything went smoothly!
Here's Oliver pushing his stroller around in the New Orleans Airport while we waited for our first flight.

Oliver remembered his Grandma Fisher from when she came to visit in June, and immediately loved his Grandpa Fisher and Uncle Austin when we saw them after we got off the plane.
When we got to my parent's house, he couldn't stop watching Aunt Lindsay, she's just so full of energy and fun! They didn't stop playing the whole time we were there. :)
He also loved getting to know his Great-Grandma's and Great-Grandpa's, and they all think he's a cutie. He loves playing at their houses!
It usually took a few minutes for Oliver to warm up to someone before he would go to them, but when Aunt Sarah came, he immediately went to her and thought she and Uncle Eric were the greatest. We had so much fun spending a couple days with them at their cute apartment in Rexburg and then one more evening with them at the Hot Pots in Lava the weekend before we came home.

It was such a great opportunity to spend so much time with my family, I'm so grateful to my parents for purchasing our plane tickets so we could go!
There were lots of cute pictures from things we did, but they're all on my Mom's camera, so I'll have to get them from her and post some for you another time.

When we got into the Airport in New Orleans it was late and Oliver was exhausted. We were standing by baggage claim when Mike came in and Oliver couldn't take his eyes off him the rest of the night. He just hugged him for a long time and didn't want to let him out of his sight, it was so cute!

Birthday Boy!

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Oliver, happy birthday to you!!

Oliver had a busy birthday, and he loved it!
The day started with him waking up and finding his new barn all set up in the living room. He LOVES his new barn and the little animals and played with them all day!

After this Mike went to class and Oliver and I got ready for the day.
We got a picnic lunch ready and went for a walk up to campus to see Mike the Tiger, LSU's mascot.
It was so hot, so we didn't stay very long. Mike met us there after class and we ate lunch and then headed home. Poor Little Man was hot and sweaty when we got back, so he got to strip down to his diaper for awhile to cool off. He took the opportunity to play with his barn some more with Dad.

Next, we decorated his cake...
It has a little "O" on it for Oliver. :)
We decided to do more of a cupcake sized cake, since we didn't think he'd eat any of it anyway. He really doesn't care very much for things like cookies and cake, silly kid.

Then he decided he was ready for cake...

He didn't waste any time getting both hands into it!

He didn't like it on his hands, he wanted a spoon.

My favorite part!

What a silly little cutie we've been blessed with!
After a bath and a nap, he had swim lessons and then some dinner and off to bed.
I think it turned out to be a pretty great birthday! :)

Here are a couple of extra pics from earlier this week...
We looked up on Sunday to find him reading the scriptures!

I love how gentle he is with the pages, I never have to worry about him tearing pages out of books.

He's getting to be quite the climber now...

New Addition and Silly Happenings

This week we purchased a piano and we're so excited about it!
Besides the fact that it's beautiful, it has many capabilities that we're excited to start taking advantage of. There are new interactive programs that I can use in piano lessons, and it will help Mike input his music so much faster!
Plus, I can practice at home now. Woohoo!! Oliver and I don't have to spend a couple hours 3 or 4 days a week at the church! Even Oliver loves it...

So, if you're looking for a piano instructor, I'd be happy to  help you! :)

Besides the new piano, we also purchased the plane tickets for Oliver and I to visit Idaho for 3 weeks next month! I can't wait to see my family and spend some time with them!!

Here's a silly video of Little Man having fun...

And another of some dancing to Dad's singing birthday card...

Here are a couple cute pictures I took to wish Austin a Happy Birthday this week. I wanted Oliver to be holding a sign that said "Have a Rockin' Birthday Uncle Austin," but Oliver just tasted it, crumpled it, and then sat on it... maybe next year. Silly kid!

What's New This Week?

Oliver has really been starting to play by himself and want to be more independent this week.
He LOVES playing with his car.
He also likes to run pretty much anything around like a car, tupperware, books, papers... you name it, he wants to slide it around on the floor like it's a car.

He's still really loving books. He'll sit on the floor with a book for 20 minutes all by himself!

He's started to really want to imitate us when we're doing things. Here he is as Master Chef! :)

He's been showing a lot of interest in the spoon and bowl when we feed him, and last night he did quite well with an empty bowl and spoon. So, today I let him try to feed himself some breakfast.

He and Dad went swimming a couple days ago, and he just loves it!

Sleep

Last night, for the first time ever, Little Man slept ALL NIGHT!!
Seriously, I think it was the best night of all our lives. :)
He woke up at 6am, at which time I was more than happy to nurse him and put him back down. He then slept until 9:30am!! Woohoo!!
Here's to hoping we can repeat this fantastic night again and again!

Projects and Things

This week has been nice and quiet. Mike was off for 3 days in a row, so we had some fun spending time with Dad at home. Oliver is working on standing and walking, and getting pretty close! Here are some videos from the last couple of days.

He's also getting to be quite the climber.
His baby car seat is in our bedroom, and sometimes I find that he's climbed into it and is just checking it out for awhile.

He's pretty proud of himself when he can climb up onto Dad's chair!

I've been feeling a little crafty lately, so I did a couple projects this week.
The first project I did was for Oliver's friend Quinn. It was her first birthday this week, so I crocheted her a hat and I love it!

My second project is one I've been planning on doing for awhile. I made this and painted it for the wall in our bedroom. I bet you'll never guess what I made it out of... :)

Oliver's been sick today and is having a hard time going to sleep, so I better go help him.
Miss you all!
