Update

We planted our bonsai tree on Monday, and are now just waiting for it to sprout. We need to start shopping for a pot for it. Last night we purchased some small pots to plant herbs in so we can have fresh herbs this summer.

This past week was crazy, all Mike and I did was homework, rehearsals, and practice. With finals coming, our teacher's are assigning a lot of last minute projects, and Mike was getting ready for his recital. It was yesterday, he did so great! My family came up since they're so close, it was neat to have them visit for a couple days. Lindsay Rose loved it! After the recital we went out to eat at Famous Dave's, Mike chose it, it was so delicious! Sorry there's no pictures, I'll come up with some soon... :)

Bonzai!... oops, I mean Bonsai

While we were on our honeymoon, we stopped at a Barnes and Noble and found one of those little kits for growing your own Bonsai Tree. At the time it was going to get cold too fast for us to grow it, so we decided to wait until the Spring. Today we decided it was time to start...

First, we have to soak the seeds for 24 hours... I'll keep you updated on how it goes... or grows! :)

An Eventful Weekend

Yesterday I was at the Snow Building for rehearsals and group meetings most of the day, so Mike decided to go to Idaho Falls and pick up some stuff he needed for his layout. After I got home, I headed to Sister Soelberg's house for our oboe party. While I was there I got a call from Mike, apparently his car broke down and he needed me to come get him. I headed down and brought him back. Today, my dad and grandpa Lindsay came up to help us decide what was wrong with it and fix it. Thankfully, it wasn't a bad problem, so we were able to do a quick fix, drive it back to Rexburg, and then fix the engine. What a blessing, thanks Dad and Grandpa, you're the best!

Symphony Orchestra Concert

Thursday we had our Orchestra concert. It was beautiful and so fun to play in!
Mom, Grandma Lindsay, Sarah, Austin, and Hilde came up to see us. It was so fun to see them and spend time with them! They also went prom dress shopping, Mike gave Austin a horn lesson, and we had cupcakes at Cocoa Bean.
I'm glad they came and got home safe even though it was so late.

My Hobby-Man

I don't know if many of you know this, but Mike's secret hobby is model railroading.(Well, since he told me about it, it's not so secret anymore...oops)
If you know very much about model railroading, then you'll know there's different scales that you can model. Mike loves N-Scale, which is 1/160 of real life size.

So, for Valentine's Day I got him the plywood and things he would need to get started on a layout, real romantic right? Haha, he was really excited though! :)

This is the mess before he really got started. It made our room smell like plywood for days... and still does sometimes, haha.

This is while he was adhering the foam to the table, he almost used a whole shelf worth of books out of our bookcases. In case you didn't notice, he built the table himself, it's pretty awesome. I love having a husband who can figure out how to create and build stuff!

After he glued the foam down, he of course had to try out his train on it a bit...

This is the layout he created and printed out, it's looking pretty great!

Now he's started cutting out the river that will run along the top left of the layout and really planning where his town, industry, and everything else will go. Unfortunately, then the expensive part of model railroading comes in... the track. So, I guess he'll have to save up his railroad budget for the next couple of months to start purchasing all the track he needs. I'm kind of excited about it, too though, it's going to be really neat when he gets it all done!
